①Statistics on the registered medical personnel are maintained by the Medical Council for doctors，Dental Council for dentists，Nursing Council for nurses and Pharmacy and Poisons Board for pharmacists.Annual renewal of practising certificate is required for doctors，dentists and pharmacists.Figures for doctors/dentists refre to the doctors/dentists with full registration on both the local and overseas lists.Figures for nurses refer to both registered nurses and enrollde nurses.Provisional figure.
*In accordance with Section 15（3） of the Dentists Registered Ordinance，Cap.156 Laws of Hong Kong，154 names of registered dentists were re-moved from the register in 2003.Offsetting by 95 new dentists registered in 2003，there was a net decrease of 59 dentists in that year.

①注册医护人员的统计资料取自不同的资料来源。医务委员会提供医生的资料，牙医管理委员会提供牙医的资料，护士管理局提供护士的资料，及药剂业及毒药管理局提供药剂师的资料。医生、牙医及药剂师需要每年重新申请执业证书。医生/牙医的数字包括本地及海外名册的正式注册医生/牙医。护士的数字包括注册护士及登记护士。临时数字。
*在2003年，有关当局根据香港法例第156章《牙医注册条例》第15（3）条把154名注册牙医的姓名从名册中除去。计及2003年新增的95名注册牙医后，该年注册牙医的净删减人数为59名。
